Madison is a unique, simple-to-use add-on for the Apple iPod, enabling low-cost high-quality DAB and FM-RDS reception on the go. Powered by the iPod, it also provides a remote mode for playback of iPod library tracks.
As well as being the only DAB/remote add-on for iPod, it is also the smallest DAB receiver available, at only 53 x 33 x 14 mm including case.
Manufacturers can customise Madison to fit their product range. Any case can be used, and Frontier Silicon can provide support for custom software/UI variants.
Madison has been designed according to Apple's stringent iPod interface guidelines, and meets all standards to be marketed as a high-quality iPod accessory.
The controls comprise play/pause, next/previous track, mode, scan, favourites (store), channel up/down, lock and volume.
The backlit display includes icons for mode and signal strength, and shows the DAB or FM station being played. In iPod remote mode, it simply shows 'Remote'.
The headphones lead doubles up as an antenna; most headphones are suitable for this purpose.
Based around the Kino 2 baseband chip, Madison has high sensitivity and frugal power consumption, enabling long listening times (dependant on volume and iPod variant).
