Paradiso SDK
Mobile TV drivers and adaptation layer for host processors running Paradiso systems
Paradiso comes complete with a comprehensive multistandard SDK encompasing three main levels:
- The chip’s embedded firmware (Pacino). This software manages the real-time control
of DVB-H or T-DMB demodulation,
- DeNiro: application software to run on the host processor, the subject of this document,
- Brando: higher-level application software, also for the host processor, running on top of
DeNiro, which provides a simplified interface for applications.
Systems can be built using Paradiso with either DeNiro on its own, or DeNiro plus Brando. Using
Brando significantly simplifies system development.

DeNiro provides a control and data interface for host processors to access Paradiso’s embedded
software via the MDTV API, and presents the following interfaces to system integrators:
- Control, for example to boot Paradiso or tune Paradiso to a particular channel.
- Data, for example reception of mobile TV data
- for T-DMB: MPEG2-TS,
- for DVB-H: IP datagrams and PSI/SI tables,
- Asynchronous events, for example Paradiso exceptions and the results of control
messages.
